NANZQ Events and Services

The Association offers many services to members and the quilting community including:

NANZQ Quilts Aotearoa - an annual juried exhibition held inconjuction with the Craft & Quilt Fair Hamilton in September. Only NANZQ Members are eligible to enter quilts in this exhibition.
NANZQ Challenge and travelling exhibition - a biennial challenge open to all NANZQ members.
"Illumination" NANZQ Challenge 2009 in associaion with Husqvarna Viking.
“Elemental” NANZQ 2007 Challenge in association with Husqvarna Viking View this years competition results.
NANZQ Masterclass - a 5 day Workshop with a Master Quilter. Members have the opportunity to work with a Master Quilter. It is not necessary to be a master quilter to participate.
The 2010 Masterclass will be announced in November 2008.
Judging Mentorships - in association with NANZQ Quilts Aotearoa and our Challenges.
NANZQ Newsletter – members receive the quarterly NANZQ Newsletter.
NANZQ Shop Directory and Register of Quilts in Public Places – a valued publication printed annually advertising Quilt Shops throughout New Zealand.
Yahoo discussion group (nanzq@yahoogroups.com) open to members.
NANZQ supports National Symposia.
Preserves New Zealand Quilting Archives.
Maintains Groups/Guilds Lists.
The National Association of New Zealand Quilters is proud to have a column listing a Calendar of Events.

JUNIOR QUILTERS

NANZQ takes pride in giving junior quilters the opportunity to show their work and receive recognition for their efforts. Encouraging junior quilters is a very worthwhile and valuable growth area for quiltmaking in New Zealand.

In the past the quilts made by school children have been of a very high standard and NANZQ thanks everyone who gives time to help and encourage the children develop these skills.

If you know of young, talented quilters check out the entry form for NANZQ Quilts Aotearoa and encourage the junior quilters to enter - they will be our successors in the future. All entries in this category will be exhibited.

Junior participants do not need to be members of NANZQ.

KUDOS COLUMN

The NANZQ newsletter, published quarterly, has a Kudos column to applaud, give recognition and announce to members these Quilt and Textile awards.

Many of our high calibre members receive prizes and awards but unfortunately many of NANZQ members are unaware of these achievements.
