2008 NANZQ Committee

As President Nancy chairs the biannual committee meetings, ensures the smooth operation of the Association, and manages the NANZQ email box and co-ordinates website content. She also writes a ‘President’s Report for the quarterly NANZQ Newsletter and reports to members at the Annual General Meeting.

Nancy is the convenor of ‘ILLUMINATION’ the 2009 NANZQ Challenge in association with Husqvarna Viking. She represents the national committee on the NANZQ Quilts Aotearoa sub-committee, which organises the annual member’s exhibition in association with the Craft and Quilt Fair in Hamilton. Nancy is the Waikato/Coromandel regional representative and stores our archives.

The Treasurer’s role requires Ann to keep an accurate record of the Association’s finances and report to committee at the biannual meetings. She prepares the annual financial accounts to be sent to the Auditor and reports to members at the Annual General Meeting.

Ann is the Auckland North regional representative and oversees member’s entries onto the website.

Janice produces the NANZQ Quarterly Newsletter and regular Flyers for distribution to groups and at regional events. Janice is the Central North Island regional representative.

NANZQ publishes an annual ‘Shop Directory’ a booklet of quilt and related interest shops in New Zealand, a list of Quilts in Public Places and NZ tutor information. Anne manages the invitations to shops to advertise in the Directory and preparation of the advertisements and other content for publishing. She is the Upper South Island representative

Mary manages the NANZQ post box, membership applications and subscriptions and maintains the Membership list. She also maintains the lists of Groups and Tutors for the website and is the NANZQ Yahoo group co-ordinator. Mary is the Lower South Island regional representative.

Every 4 years the Association organises a 5 day Masterclass with a renowned overseas tutor.

The third Masterclass will be held around Easter 2010 and will be announced in August 2008. Margaret is responsible for managing the organisation of this major event on our calendar. Margaret is the Lower North Island Representative

Mary is responsible for the general correspondence of the Association, preparation of agenda, minutes and other related documents for committee and AGMs. She is responsible for updating the Strategic Plan after each meeting. Mary is the Bay of Plenty regional representative.
